The tablet cleaning cycle removes coffee oils, prolongs the life of your machine and makes your coffee taste better. Grinding fresh coffee beans, tamping and brewing under high pressure releases coffee oils. Some of these oils start to build up inside of your machine. As the oil accumulates, the coffee can develop a bitter taste. Coffee oil build-up can also reduce the overall coffee output. Your Impressa reminds you automatically after 200 cups of coffee to run a tablet cleaning cycle, using one of the cleaning tablets. This 15 minute cycle removes coffee oils from all internal parts.
