Bamboo is actually a grass that grows to a harvestable height between 3-5 years. Some species grow up to 2 feet per day. After harvesting, bamboo does not require replanting. Bamboo has an extensive root system that continually sends up new shoots, naturally replenishing itself, making it one of the most renewable resources known. Bamboo is 16% harder than maple wood, 1/3 lighter in weight than oak, yet in some instances as strong as steel. Bamboo holds the promise of a sustainable, cost effective, and ecologically responsible alternative to the widespread clear cutting of our old growth forests.
Totally Bamboo uses only premium grade bamboo and then, only the lower portion of each pole because it is much denser. Our factory adheres to a very stringent protocol, for curing and processing, resulting in the highest quality product attainable. Our factory is ISO 9000 compliant which is a rating system covering non-polluting environmental issues and employee welfare , safety and minimum age. Our goal is to continually design new, unique and innovative products. Creating and maintaining the leadership role in this exciting new category. As we design all our own products we have the ability to develop brand names and/or custom designs for the larger client.
