Rachel Ray Tech Edge II Pro Sharpening System

Rachael Ray Tech Edge II
Pro Knife Sharpening System

  • Fast
Each of the 3 stages quickly takes the edge from completely dull, through reshaping to coarse honing, to fine honing, usually all in under a minute. Great for the busy chef at work or home.
  • Easy
No special skills are required: simple pull-through motions are easy for chefs, and for home cooks.
  • Accurate
The sharpening tools create and maintain the perfect edge shape and angles, with little room for human error. (Designed by engineers and chefs for working chefs: not designed to be a kitchenware gadget).
  • Great value
Much more economical than professional sharpening services, gadgets that don't work, or dull knives that are left in the drawer unused!

Rachael says:
“What amazed me about the Tech Edge II sharpener is the way it made sharper edges than I ever had before, and so quickly and easily! With traditional sharpeners, I had to sharpen each edge of the blade separately. The Tech Edge II sharpens both sides of the blade at the same time . . . immediately cutting sharpening time in half. Also, if I use a traditional sharpening system, I have to hold the blade at the correct angle to maximize effectiveness. Tech Edge II is already calibrated to sit against the blade at the proper angle . . . all I have to do is pull the blade straight down and back between the two sets of interlocking Tech Edge II sharpening ‘fingers'. Finally, while traditional sharpening requires many swipes to hone properly, the Tech Edge II requires only three down and back swipes . . . just three swipes and my blade is razor sharp!”

Tech Edge operation
After years of using traditional sharpening methods, popular television cook Rachael Ray has recently upgraded to new technology. Her new Füri RR Tech Edge knife sharpener is from Furitechnics, the Australian engineers and chefs behind the inter nationally acclaimed Füri range of professional knives and ‘innovations for cooks'. The Füri RR Tech Edge sharpening system has been a ‘hit with chefs and serious home cooks' since its release in 2004. (Füri is the leading pro knife brand in their native Australia , and popular with chefs in the US, Canada, UK, and most of Europe The main goal of Tech Edge is to maintain super-sharp cutting edges, as accurately and quickly as possible, with the minimum of blade material removal. Therefore, it is best to use the Tech Hone stage as much as possible (for fine honing, with little metal removal), and the other two stages only when an edge needs some reshaping or coarse honing.

The Australian-designed Furi range was released less then 2 years ago and it is now becoming the new standard for leading Chefs worldwide. Traditionalist Chefs have found that Furi wasn't a style-fashion thing after all; the new design features introduced by Furi really do make it superior to others (where it counts the most: hygiene, durability, comfort, grip, ease of sharpening and edge retention). For the professional, the Furi knife reduces fatigue in long repetitive prep sessions and increases precision for fine cuts. This is partly because of the easier slicing the East/West blade allows, but also because the Patented Furi handle requires a lighter grip to do all the same work (the Furi handle acts like a wedge in the hand to eliminate forward slip, and hence it requires less squeezing of the handle, and this means less fatigue).
