This stainless steel Shun mandoline slicer features a 16° single-bevel blade design, which is inspired from the Japanese yanagiba blade from 700 hundred years ago. The VG-10 steel cutting blade is made from the same high-quality as the Shun Pro knives with a hollow-ground back that creates air pockets between the blade and the food, reducing friction and allowing for an easy glide. The main blade can be removed for re-sharpening. For desired thickness, loosen the deck knob and turn for the perfect slice; this enables you to choose any thickness instead of preset settings. The powder-coated cast aluminum food caddy is designed for safety, with a handle that keeps your hands away from the blade at all times. The legs can be removed for easy cleaning and storage. Included are three additional blades: 1/8-inch shoestring, 1/4-inch julienne & 3/8-inch French fry blade.
