The Taylor Infrared & Thermocouple Professional Thermometer is a safe, non-contact infrared thermometer that measures surface temperatures. The white light targeting feature will automatically turn on while the Scan button is pressed. Simply aim the thermometer at the target to be measured with the "Infrared Lens" and press the Scan (infrared) key to display the surface temperature. The distance to target ratio is 3:1; therefore the
thermometer should be positioned as close to the target as possible. While scanning, the newest temperature will be updated on the LCD and the measurement will continue as long as the Scan (infrared) key is depressed. When the Scan (infrared) key is released, the "Hold" icon will appear on the display and the last measurement will remain visible for 15 seconds before the display goes blank.
The infrared temperature ranges from -67° to 482°F/-55° to 250°C with one second response time. The thermocouple temperature ranges from -67 to 626°F/-55 to 330°C with one second response time. The thermocouple accuracy measures Below 14°F +/- 2°F (-10°C +/- 1°C); 14 to 149°F +/- 1°F (-10 to 65°C +/- 0.6°C) and Above 149°F (65°C) +/- 1% of reading. The infrared accuracy reads from -67 to 32°F +/- 1.8°F + (-0.1 x (reading -32), -55 to 0°C +/- 1°C = (0.1 x reading), 32 to 149°F +/- 2°F; 0 to 65°C +/- 1°C; 149 to 482°F and 65 to 250°C +/- 1.5% of reading with a resolution of 0.5°F / 0.2°C.
