Description

The Global Paring Knife is a multipurpose small knife that is great for hand peeling, precision cutting, slicing and detail cuts. The perfect knife to devein shrimp, and for removing seeds from chili peppers and skinning or cutting small garnishes. Global knives contain two innovative features, their edge and the way they are balanced. The most important detail of any knife is its edge, and the Global edge is truly its signature. Global knives are sharpened or ground steeply to a point, and to an acute angle while resisting rust, stains and corrosion. The straight edge results in a dramatically sharper knife which stays sharper longer. The edge on a Global knife is so large and prominent that it is easily seen with the naked eye and extends a quarter of an inch or more up from the tip of the knife.

From its modest inception, Global has developed into one of the most successful brands of professional kitchen knives in the world. Still crafted by hand in Yoshikin's factory in Niigata, Japan, Global knives are manufactured to extremely high and exacting standards. Global has attracted much acclaim over the years and received numerous awards. A thousand years ago, Japanese sword-smiths developed the high art of sword making to provide strong, sharp blades for the Samurai, the feared warrior caste. Like the Samurai swords before them, each knife is carefully weighted to ensure perfect balance in the hand. Global knives have been hand crafted in Japan using the same traditions and developed using the best raw materials available.

    Extremely sharp

Global knives feel good in the hand, hold their edge well, and are extremely sharp. If you are looking for a high quality knife they are always a good choice.

    Handy little knife

I am just now switching over to Japanese style knives. This little paring knife is very handy. It does get dull faster than my Shun knives, but it sharpens back up very easily. I am glad I purchased this.

    Love it!

I've had this paring knife for about three weeks now and couldn't be happier with my purchase! It's nice and light, comfortable in my hand, and most importantly the blade is sharp! I actually came to the site to buy a Santoku, which I did. It's the look alike Global 7", and being that the price was so good (and I shopped around, trust me) that I was able to replace my old paring knife too. My sister highly recommend Global and I'm very happy that she did. I love this knife, the ease of online ordering, and the prompt delivery, which was free by the way with orders over $49!

Great steel and quality, quite thin handle.

I love most of my Global knives, and I have about 10 of them.

Edge holding is great, I am only touching up most of them every two-three months or so.

This paper is no different but I found handle is too thin for me - I have XL size gloves. But I am keeping and still using this knife for about two years now.
