Description

The Mac Black Ceramic Honing Rod features two grooved sides (on opposite sides of the rod) for more aggressive honing. Turn the rod 90° to use the grooved sides or smooth sides. Includes a rubberized end cap, flush with the diameter of the rod to reduce "catching" on the knife. Black ceramic material is a new type of ceramic that is much harder than traditional white ceramic which will quickly realign an edge and works well on harder Japanese steel knives which tend to have a higher Rockwell hardness.

    Good Japanese Knife Sharpener

    Ideally we should sharpen with Wheatstones, but when we need something quickly this does the job. Kinda wish it didn't have the little buckle at the end, but not the end of the world

    Great Honing Rod

    This is a very well-made honing rod. I prefer ceramic over steel honing rods to realign my edge quickly during use preparing food. Extremely fast shipping from Cutlery And More. I would recommend both.

    Excellent honing rod

    Have had this rod for a month now. It's perfect for the new harder steels. It's ceramic fine abrasive doesn't take too much metal from the edge. Now I'm getting razor sharp blades without excessive metal removal.
