Description

The Shun Classic Blonde Santoku Knife is a multipurpose knife used for just about every cutting job in the kitchen. The name is known as "three virtues", which refers to three types of foods it works especially well with. Ideal for vegetables, proteins, and fruit, or for the three types of cuts at which it excels such as slicing, dicing, and chopping. Slightly shorter than the standard chef's knife, a santoku is very easy to maneuver, even in a smaller kitchen. There's just enough belly curve to enable rocking cuts, which enhances the knife's versatility. This distinctive piece of kitchen cutlery performs beautifully and you'll find that the new blonde Pakkawood handles fit your hand like a comfortable glove.

The Shun Classic Blonde series features beautiful Damascus-clad blades with D-shaped PakkaWood handles in a light and beautiful natural wood tone. The razor-sharp blades offer top performance. Shun's proprietary high-performance VG-MAX steel provides incredible edge retention. Blades are handcrafted of durable clad with Damascus stainless steel, ground and bead-blasted creating a flowing pattern of the layered steel. The result is a line of knives that are sharp, durable, and corrosion resistant, as well as beautiful to hold.

    Beautiful knife

I bought this knife because I’ve been wanting a santuko again for several years, and this is a beautiful knife at a decent price. I won’t lie, I like sweet handles and it’s a Shun, so give it a try right?

I’m not disappointed at all, but it’s not the best knife I own. I work in a busy kitchen and I use my knives all day. I respect knives. They’re one of our most important tools. It’s sharp enough, but not the sharpest I’ve had. I’ve seen several broken Shuns over the years so I’m always a

little bit apprehensive about leaving it lying on the cutting board if I get pulled away.

Bottom line. A beautiful knife that will give you years of pleasure at home, but I don’t trust it like I do my Yaxell.
